The Shiva reminds me of Lara Croft in Tomb Raider 3 where she had to battle a sword brandishing giant living statue (I think they were actually Ganesha rather than Shiva). It would be a nice addition to my Dr Who Screen Saver.

In the first film, it's Lord Shiva the statue is meant to represent, I think. Lord Ganesha is an elephant god. As to TR3 (the game, archaetypes), I never did play that one, so can't really say.
